The challenge – Thousands of candidates needed for the PEAK season
Manpower is one of the largest recruitment companies in the world and is responsible for sourcing the workforce of thousands of companies. They connect more than 600,000 with meaningful work every day and helps more than 400,000 clients.
Due to their high-volume work, Manpower is continuously recruiting new candidates for the whole year. Also, during their PEAK season – July and December – they are tasked every year to find thousands of HGV, multidrop drivers and warehouse operatives.
Over the years, Manpower has relied heavily on job boards to generate qualified candidates. However, recently they have been disheartened with the results and struggled to find the candidates they required. A large proportion of the candidate that did come from job boards did not manage to apply, because of the long-winded registration process.
The solution – Video job adverts to accelerate the hiring process
At that point, Manpower needed a solution to reduce time on the applicant process. To help them to get more candidates and accelerate the hiring process, we created a 30 second branded advert to promote the roles Manpower had available. The main video was then broken down into a series of branded video campaigns that could target candidates for specific positions directly on Facebook and Instagram.

We streamlined the job application process to a two-click automatic apply form which captured the candidates’ information without them having to leave social media. We also were able to give Manpower total control over the number of applications they received and confidence they could deliver the project for their market-leading clients.
The result – More applications than their team could handle
In three weeks, Manpower’s campaign achieved 4318 applications for an average cost per application of £1.19. The adverts average click-through rate was 6.45%, compared to the industry average of 0.75%.

Thanks to this campaign, Manpower could fill all the vacancies required in less time, getting more applications than their team could handle. They also reduced the application process, generating quality candidates and improving the recruitment process.
